In a world where ideas drive economies, it's no wonder that innovation and entrepreneurship will often be seen as inseparable bedfellows. The governments around the globe are starting to realize that to be able to sustain progress and improve a country's economy, people have to be encouraged and trained to think out-of-the-box and be constantly developing innovative goods and services. The once feasible ways of doing business are no longer guarantees for future economic success!

In response to this inevitable change, some governments are rethinking the way the young are educated by infusing creative thinking and innovation within their nation's educational curriculum. In the same vein, they are putting much emphasis on the need to train future entrepreneurs through infusing entrepreneurship components in the educational system, especially at the tertiary level.

Some countries have got this initiative to a higher level by introducing entrepreneurship education at elementary schools and encouraging them to be future entrepreneurs when they are of age. In a series of survey funded by Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, it was found that nearly seven out of 10 youths (aged 14-19) were excited about becoming entrepreneurs.

Being an entrepreneur is now the choice of the new generation in comparison with the preferred profession choices of yesteryears for example being the physician, lawyer or a fighter pilot. In a recent visit to the bustling city of Shanghai in China, an informal survey was performed among Chinese youths through the author. The end result of the report showed that being an entrepreneur, especially within the field of computer and e-commerce, is perceived as a 'cool' profession and is definitely an aspiration for many Chinese youths Ahead of the 'opening up' of modern China, becoming an entrepreneur was perceived as the outcome of one's inability to hold an excellent government job and those who dared to venture, were often scorned at by their peers. Times have indeed changed.

In line with recent reports, the range of college graduates and business professionals which are becoming intrigued through the perception of entrepreneurship has grown tremendously. This may really be viewed on the planet of women. Women that can be choosing the sector of entrepreneurship are doing this for a range of reasons. For some women they can be enthusiastic that entrepreneurship provides them the chance to spend more time with family and earn an income at the same time. Not forgetting that idea that women have fought a gender pay gap for years and also are in need of a limitless career alternative. This isn't say that women have it easier as an entrepreneur than men because both parties face the exact same challenges.

Over the last couple of years there has been a surge in the amount of entrepreneurs in today's business industry. For this reason, entrepreneurship has been the topic of discussion in several digital media platforms and news reports. What makes entrepreneurship such a helpful topic of discussion is how various entrepreneurs began from humbling beginnings such as homelessness, while some stem from the adventures of working within the various facets of corporate America. Irrespective of their individual backgrounds it goes without proclaiming that every entity they experienced within their lives contributed to their financial success within the arena of entrepreneurship.

After researching the business arena I found myself wondering how many individuals are out worldwide looking for the next big entrepreneurship opportunity.
