There just can't be a comparison between Batman's can of anti-shark spray and also the stethoscope utilized by that chick in Grey's Anatomy in the fourth episode of the other season.
Owning a prop from a film is just not a bad thing but there is one thing more personal when it comes to TV. Movies are seen in public at theaters with little personality with people you don't know and are vaguely concerned about having sneeze in your popped corn. Television is designed for the home. What is shown on television is designed for when you're tired after a long day and want to cuddle up on the couch in your pj's. It only seems sensible that a piece of what's on the tube should one day wind up in a fan's home.
It may seem unbelievable but my friend owes his life to a TV prop. He was within his back yard relaxing on his hammock on a summer afternoon, simply minding his own business and enjoying a cool glass of pomegranate juice. A prowler hopped the fence at the back of his yard and approached him quickly with a sizable knife.
